I’ve never been good at New Year’s resolutions (surprise, surprise). Whether it’s my fear of commitment, an incredibly short attention span or my procrastinator nature, I don’t think I’ve kept a single one. A couple of years ago I started doing micro-resolutions, in which I focused on improving one aspect of myself or my life for a month, and this year I’m going to try and do it again! So, without further ado, my January resolutions…
1) Blog 3 times a week (at least)
This is my first ever blog post! I’ve wanted to start a blog for years, and it’s finally happening. I really want to make time for it, and I think 3 times a week to start off with is possible!
2) Take a photo every day for a month
This Christmas I got a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8, and I am head over heels in love with it! I want to take a photo every day this month with it, because all of my photos nowadays are lost in the biggest camera roll on my iPhone. Just don’t tell me how much the film is going to cost…
3) Take more beauty risks
I’ve liked makeup for a long time, but I used to be in a bit of a rut. Last year I had to put down the liquid eyeliner for the first time in years and swapped to eyeshadow. Writing it sounds trivial, but I really relied on that cat flick to make me feel pretty, and being forced out of my comfort zone enhanced my natural confidence, as well as improving my blending skills, though I think that might just be my MAC 217. Long story short, I want to stop worrying about what everyone else thinks and wear things that I thought I could never pull off, whether it’s dark lipstick, dying my hair or just changing up my personal style.
There are also some usual suspects such as work for an extra hour every day, use mouthwash 3 times a day (sexy, I know), but I won’t bore you with the details. Wish me luck!
